Energy-saving construction is not a temporary trend or fashion, but the future and technological development of the construction industry. Architects and design studios respond dynamically to the demands of a society looking for innovative housing solutions, offering a very wide range of energy-efficient home projects.
For many years, expanded polystyrene has remained the most popular insulating material in construction. Foamed polystyrene is durable, resistant to moisture and durable material. Styrofoam does not burden the construction of partitions, which ensures the safety of the building, even if the thickness of the roof or insulation of the outer wall exceeds 30 cm.
Gray polystyrene, which contains additives that improve the insulating properties of polystyrene slabs (eg graphite), is a product that meets the requirements of insulating materials, and thanks to which it is possible to achieve high thermal insulation of the building. Given the changes in building codes, which are constantly being gradually strengthened, graphite polystyrene is today the best response from manufacturers to the expectations of the insulation materials market.
Graphite expanded polystyrene is made in the same way as ordinary white boards, with the only difference that the raw material for their production contains appropriate additives of graphite, which improve the thermal insulation properties and give the boards a characteristic silver-gray color.
The thermal conductivity coefficient λ (lambda), which characterizes the insulating properties of materials, for expanded polystyrene boards with graphite additives can be 0.031 W/mK.
The lower the value of the coefficient λ (lambda) of polystyrene, the more effectively it protects the building block, significantly reducing energy consumption for heating. Therefore, if we choose graphite polystyrene with a factor of λ = 0.031 W/mK and a thickness of 15 cm for insulation, it should be remembered that to obtain the same thermal protection of the wall using ordinary white foamed polystyrene with a value of λ = 0.044 W/mK requires use plates 21 cm thick.
ADVANTAGES OF EUROBUD EPS GRAPHITE:
- up to 25% better thermal insulation properties
- more effective protection against cold in winter and heat in summer
- a thinner layer of insulation guarantees a smaller area of window frames, better daylight
- more aesthetic appearance of the building
- significant savings on heating
- made in Ukraine from European raw materials
Other benefits of EPS:
- Light weight, easy to install.
- Work with plates does not demand additional hygienic measures
- Durable material (more than 50 years without loss of properties)
- Resistant to microorganisms.
